Blog

I pause to celebrate with you, my loyal readers, who have tolerated my absence from blogging while I wrote this book. It’s been over a year in the making, but it was worth every drop of blood, sweat, and tears!

I’ll be blogging more about it, including featuring some of the main heroes. For now, I want to simply let you know it’s available. It might make a nice gift for a friend, graduate, colleague or athlete interested in knowing more about how to maximize their strengths.

A few endorsements – I’ll share more down the road:

“History is littered with gifted individuals and teams that failed to reach their full potential. You must invest in a player’s strengths and the strengths of the collective to build a championship team. This book will teach you to discover the untapped talent on your team, and harness it to reach your Destination Unstoppable” – Ryan Diem, Super Bowl XLI Champion, Indianapolis Colts ’01-’11

“The best book on strengths. Ever. It will touch your head and your heart and inspire you to find your Destination Unstoppable!”    – Stephen Shapiro,  Hall of Fame Speaker,  Author of Best Practices are Stupid

“Calling all business leaders – it’s time to practice what we preach! Destination Unstoppable is a true success story about harnessing the strengths of individuals to deliver extraordinary team results. The best news is that you can do it, too – roadmap included! A must read!”  – Steve Schultz, President and COO, GOJO Industries

I have infinite gratitude in my heart for all of you who have been so supportive of me on my journey along the road less traveled.  And I hold special appreciation for Coach Weidenbach for trusting me with his team. There is a short video on my website – you can meet and hear him (and me, and Cranbrook goalie Nolan Rogow) at this link.

One more interesting tidbit – Destination Unstoppable was published on my mother’s 80th birthday! How about that? I guess UNSTOPPABLE runs in my blood!

Khalid, one of my favorite parts of writing the book was describing how WE worked together to create a global strengths movement. Remember when we had over 6,000 people sign up for our webinars – at one time? We truly harnessed the full potential of our individual and collective strengths. The first one of those (individual strengths) is hard. The second one (collective strengths) is really hard. That’s why so few teams reach their Destination Unstoppable – there’s too much untapped talent in the room. The competitive edge is lost. This book helps us fix that – so many leadership lessons from Coach Weidenbach, the Maestro of the Cranbrook Hockey Team. And working with you helped me understand what a truly powerful value proposition it was to harness all that talent. And to think that you’re in India and I’m in Michigan and that we’ve never, ever met in person. Remarkable. Thank you!

  2. It’s been abundantly delicious to watch your dream of making an impact on the lives of people and business through strengths come true! I remember when we took that virtual writing workshop together – so fun to see your amazing talent in a place where everyone can experience it. Kudos to you, my friend!

Vicki, it is wonderful of you to stop by and share your point of view. From where I stand, you are a great example of making an impact upon the world by bringing mindfulness and meditation to drive success at a large corporation. In doing so, you leverage your strengths magnificently! We did take that hideous online writing class together – the best thing about it was sharing our assignments with one another – I think we made ourselves better writers by doing so. Our teacher… not so much! :=0 But we had fun and learned, and that’s all that matters. You offered so much encouragement to me, in writing and beyond. Thank you!
